Ann Lowe is an interior designer and set stylist. She's also a passionate photographer, happy to sit and strum her guitar, a killer ice tea maker and author of another lovely blog, My Friend's Homes.
On a muggy summer afternoon I stepped into the quiet, natural light filled oasis that is Ann's home. Everything is placed perfectly, lazy black taper candles leaning in the heat, wild flowers, perfectly miss-matched throw pillows, a few odd trinkets, but nothing looks forced -- exactly what you'd expect from an effortless decorator. Ann's home, tucked up on a hill in East Austin, is the type of spot you want to disappear in. The sort of place where you want to just sip iced tea (which we happily did), strum a guitar, peruse a book, listen to a record, or maybe just have a think. We poked through her collection of oddities (eagle wings!), admired her art collection (Anna Krachey!) and swooned over her living room (it's sunken!). If only I could figure out how to sink mine...
